When you speak to our receptionist to set up your appointment, be prepared to thoroughly describe your back, bone, or joint problems so we have some idea ahead of time what the issue may be and how long your appointment should last. If this isn’t your first doctor visit for the problem, be sure to bring in all previous documentation as well on the day of your appointment. These records will greatly assist us in providing precise, timely care. If you are on any medications, supplements, or personal treatment plans (whether prescribed or not), take care to list all of these beforehand and bring them in so we know exactly what your current treatment regimen is and how it’s working for you.

How comfortable are you in a clinical environment? It’s not unusual for patients to bring in a friend or family member to the office, so if having support could help you retain the information we’ll provide you at the appointment or will simply make you more comfortable, feel free to bring someone along. Either way, be sure to arrive early. There will be paperwork to fill out before the appointment, so make sure you allow yourself enough time to accurately complete it.

During the appointment, be attentive and listen closely to your doctor. If there’s anything you don’t understand, don’t hesitate to ask questions or request some written documentation, brochures, and places for further resources, or you can even take your own written notes. You should com away from the experience with a clear idea of what your symptoms mean, what you should do on your own to treat them, and how the diagnosis will affect your day-to-day life. If any of this isn’t clear to you, make sure, again, to ask questions.
